A Place To Bury Strangers release Onwards To The Wall, their debut EP on Dead Oceans February 6 on CD/12″/Digital formats. The EP contains five brand new, pummelling tracks.

Lead song ”So Far Away” takes all the pure pop perfection of The Box Tops’ “The Letter” and shoots it through with a barely-harnessed dark energy and snarling propulsion.

Watch “So Far Away” video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ-QY_rkJLI

The track can also be downloaded for free here:

http://www.scjag.com/mp3/do/sofaraway.mp3

Onwards To The Wall packs every bit of the searing sonic maelstrom listeners have come to expect from APTBS. Produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by APTBS themselves, this is the sound of a band in control of making out-of-control music. Now joined by bassist Dion Lunadon, formerly of The D4, lead singer and guitarist Oliver Ackerman has found a crucial companion in pulling timeless melodies from their jet engine textures. The adroit songcraft that’s always been there is brought to the fore, with familiar pop hooks repurposed for maximum carnage. A handful of contemporary bands are currently exploring the new limits of loud. Here, APTBS proves that they have not only been leading that charge, but that they are also evolving and maturing on those front lines.

Onwards To The Wall is a fresh, complete artistic statement from APTBS. It’s a new chapter, a prelude for what awaits us on the horizon. It is a taste of greatness to come.

A Place to Bury Strangers have announced they will bring their senses-stunning live show back to the UK. Here are full dates:

‘Days’ is the third single to be taken from The Drums’ second album ‘Portamento’.
The Drums’ frontman Jonny Pierce explains, “When I wrote and recorded it I thought it might be just another heartbreak song, but when I listened back to it I saw it was more than that. It was a reaction to years of trying to make things work one way and then having a breakthrough and realizing sometimes you have to start over completely from scratch to be at peace with yourself. “

The single’s release date of February 27th 2012 also sees The Drums headline an NME Awards Show at London’s Roundhouseas part of a short UK tour. Support will come from Spector.

Prior to these dates, the band will be heading to Australia and Singapore for the Laneway Festival and two shows in Melbourne and Sydney with Cults.

CRAZY ARM
MARCH MINI-TOUR 2012
Devonian roots-punk ensemble, Crazy Arm, embark on a short UK stint ‘The Leap Of Faith tour’ in March alongside good friends, Apologies I Have None and Great Cynics. They also hook up with Indiana US country singer, Austin Lucas, for a couple of shows, with Crazy Arm appearing as Austin’s backing band on a number of songs.

The band’s second album, ‘Union City Breath’, was released in October last year. Much like its predecessor, ‘Born To Ruin’, it has been very well received nationwide and throughout mainland Europe by fans and critics alike. Produced and engineered by Peter Miles (The King Blues, The Computers, Sonic Boom Six), the album is a triumph of punk rock energy, alt. country vitality and rabble-rousing honesty.

Not easy to categorise, and all the better for it, Crazy Arm’s sound is an accumulation of decades of influence and inspiration: rooted in hardcore/punk, ‘60s protest folk/country and Springsteen-esque classic rock’n’roll. They combine this with a grass-roots political overview that embraces anti-war, anti-fascist and pro-community activism.

FEBRUARY 2012
29th – White Rabbit, Plymouth (with Austin Lucas + Apologies I Have None + Great Cynics)

MARCH 2012
1st – Croft, Bristol (with Austin Lucas + Apologies I Have None + Great Cynics)
2nd – The Hydrant, Brighton (with Apologies I Have None + Great Cynics)
3rd – Firebug, Leicester (with Apologies I Have None + Great Cynics)
4th – Fighting Cocks, Kingston (with Apologies I Have None + Great Cynics)
5th – Norwich (with Apologies I Have None + Great Cynics)
