After the slow demise of Easycore (Set Your Goals and Four Year Strong have both lost their way on album 3, and the less said about A Day To Remember the better) pop punk kids were left looking for a new sound to call their own. Enter the new heavy weights, bands like The Wonder Years and Fireworks who dropped the mild breakdowns for an altogether more positive sound.
London’s Failure By Design are back with their first release since the ‘Call This A Demo, Punk?’ download. FBD shares The Wonder Years knack for writing immediately quotable lyrics although to compare them musically would do both bands an injustice – while The Wonder Years have become a smooth pop punk band, FBD have kept their slightly rougher, punkier edge.
