GUNNING FOR TAMAR – DARK SKY TOURISM
Released 6th August 2012 (Alcopop Records)
Words: Tom Willmott
Another upcoming home-grown talent have surfaced. A young Oxford-based quartet, Gunning For Tamar (originally from Cornwall and hence the name) have been making waves for some time playing up and down the country and, with the backing of the excellent Alcopop Records, show potential with their latest offering.
In Dark Sky Tourism raucous vocals collide with melodic phrasing before revving up again to a blistering finale. Whilst not setting the world alight, it’s a catchy number in the same vein as Foals, with some dancey elements thrown in for good measure.
Good things should be heading these guys’ way, if they continue to tour and get into more punters’ faces. Start spreading the word!
