MISS VINCENT – NO ONE KNEW
Released 5th October 2012
Words: John Newspeaker for Noise Addiction
OK lets get a few things straight..
No One Knew is a decent enough song, the band are cute and energetic, and seemingly happy rocking it out doing their Blink 182 thing. They also have youth on their side, and as a review they should take the above strap line and take out the words enough, seemingly and Blink 182, copy and paste it with all their PR blurbs and use it to their own advantage.
As a composition it has some good bits and it’s obvious the boys can write. I don’t like the chorus because it reminds me of The Vaccines, but that is my problem not Miss Vincent’s. The youth probably dig it especially the middle class girls that want the rock but not necessarily the roll.. Ooh err missus! And it’s all very nice and sanitized and good luck to them. On a personal note I am getting extremely troubled by the lack of uniqueness in the singing voices of our young front men. Don’t shoot the messenger, but vocally MV need to cut the mid Atlantic pretty boy twang or they will end up as poor man’s Blink 41 or worse still a Sum 182. Be warned, no one deserves that.
