THE MILK – EVERY TIME WE FIGHT
Released 24th June 2012 (Central UK)
Words: John Newspeaker for Noise Addiction
There is a lot of hype surrounding The Milk at the moment… and all very justifiable in my opinion. For when Dame Emma of the parish of Noise Addiction span the musical wheel of fortune I jammed the mechanism so The Milk would fall into my lap. Who said cheats never win!
“Every Time We Fight” not only tells a story, it gives us hope. Beautifully sung and performed by funky British white boys from the South East. The Milk really are the cream of the current crop. OK that’s the last time I will do that, but… this track is masterfully crafted and if you didn’t know better you could believe it was a black powerhouse vocalist like Cee lo Green cracking it out. Production wise it gets the full Amy/Ronson/Plan B vibe but still that can only be a good thing can’t it?
A splendid mix of all that is good about popular music, and a song really breaking its neck to open up the world to The Milk. The back catalogue is also fantastic and understandably they are on full A&R alert. The Milk are breaking new talent and if this doesn’t break I’ll eat my own feet.
PS: The Milk are the bollocks, stop poncing about and get with the programme.
