To be the first UK band to be produced by Mike Sapone (Crime in Stereo, Brand New, Public Enemy…)
THE XCERTS have already kicked 2010 off in style supporting the incredible Fightstar. Later this week they will be heading off to the U.S. to begin work on the follow up to 2009’s critically acclaimed debut album ‘In The Cold Wind We Smile’. Their as-yet-untitled second record will see Long Island based producer Mike Sapone at the helm. Sapone has an impressive track record and has produced records for the likes of Crime in Stereo, Public Enemy and Brand New.
Initial talks about the possibility of Mike Sapone working with The Xcerts came about due to lead singer/guitarist Murray MacLeod’s love for the bands that Sapone has previously worked with. MacLeod said “Mike has produced some of our favourite records and creates unique sounding albums. We are honoured to be the first UK band that he will have produced. To say we are excited is an understatement… We cannot wait for you to hear this record.”
The Xcerts forthcoming album will be released on Xtra Mile Recordings later this year and you can expect to hear the first fruits of their labour in late spring/early summer.

New York band MEN are set to return to the UK for a one-off London show in April. The Brooklyn-based band and art/performance collective consists of core members JD Samson (Le Tigre) Michael O’Neill (Ladybug Transistor) and Ginger Brooks Takahashi (LTTR) and this show follows their packed-out shows in London and Brighton earlier this year.
MEN, who are at present unsigned, have also recently completed U.S. tours with both Peaches and Gossip, their debut, self-released EP is available to buy online now, and this show sees them take a break from recording their debut album.
MEN focus on the energy of live performance and radical potential of dance music. Their music speaks of issues such as wartime economies, sexual compromise, and the demand for liberties through lyrical content and an inventive, high energy stage show.
The group began in 2007 with the DJ/production/remix team of LE TIGRE members JD Samson and Johanna Fateman. With LE TIGRE on hiatus, when the duo began to write new songs, it made sense to merge their efforts with JD’s other new project HIRSUTE. JD and Hirsute members Michael and Ginger now comprise the core of MEN, with Johanna and artist Emily Roysdon contributing as writers, consultants, and producers.

ATTACK! ATTACK! announce first UK dates of 2010!
Following more than a year of solid touring in support of their self-titled debut album, released in October 2008, Welsh melody merchants Attack! Attack! took some well earned time off to begin work on it’s follow up. Said follow up is planned for a summer release, but expect to hear the first fruits of their new material around the time of their newly announced UK headline dates in May.
The South Wales based quartet enjoyed a wave of media support with their debut, securing slots at the Reading & Leeds, Download and Sonisphere festivals and a sync for their ‘You and Me’ single on hit US TV show 90210 along the way, before culminating in their inclusion on the global gaming phenomenon Guitar Hero 5.
