UK RELEASE ON SEPTEMBER 27

ALEXISONFIRE are excited to announce the release of iTunes Originals on September 27, 2010. The iTunes Originals session encompasses interview clips of the band members reflecting on their career and revealing the inspirations behind their songs, along with album tracks and new live versions of some of their most popular songs. Alexisonfire recorded their iTunes Originals session in Spring 2010 and performed six tracks live in the studio specifically for this release. Alexisonfire’s iTunes Originals will be available as an album or as individual tracks. The interview segments are only available by purchasing the complete release.

Alexisonfire’s fourth and latest studio full-length Old Crows/Young Cardinals was released in the summer of 2009 and debuted at #2 on the Top 200 SoundScan in Canada. The band have been performing around the world since and continue this Autumn with a tour of UK, Germany, Australia, and Japan, with Canadian dates to be announced soon.

Badly Drawn Boy, aka Damon Gough, has announced details of a UK tour in October, his first in three years. The dates coincide with a new Badly Drawn Boy single and album slated for release in September and October respectively.

Penning the soundtrack to last year’s Caroline Aherne film The Fattest Man in Britain sparked a period of unprecedented creativity for Gough, resulting in a wealth of terrific new songs. Gough decided the best way to capture this surge, and give the songs the exposure they deserved was to release a trilogy of albums. The trilogy is called ‘It’s What I’m Thinking’ and‘Part 1 – Photographing Snowflakes’ is released October 4^th.

NOVEMBER HEADLINE DATES FOR ALEXISONFIRE

Canadian noise niks ALEXISONFIRE are pleased to announce their return to the UK for a string of headline shows in November. The post-hardcore mob have been busy playing European festivals over the last couple months and are now gearing up to take Australia and Japan by storm prior to these headline shows. The UK dates will be directly preceded by a handful of European performances.

Tickets are £14 for all shows, excluding London which is £15, and go on sale to the general public from Wed 4 Aug. The band is offering a special fan presale to their UK Internet Community Members from Mon 2 Aug. Fans may purchase a VIP package or a standard ticket. ADD MORE DATES TO TOUR & Single ‘Careful’ released July 12^th

Due to popular demand, Paramore have added two new dates to their forthcoming UK tour. Tickets for the two new shows, in Manchester and Nottingham, will go on sale on Friday July 9^th at 9am.

Fueled By Ramen recording group Paramore are also set to release Careful, the fourth single taken from their Number One album ‘brand new eyes’, in the UK on July 12.

Hayley (Williams, vocals) says of the song: ‘So psyched to release Careful as a single. It’s one of my favourite songs to play at shows… Heavy, fast, and just a really intense song. Hope people get into it!’

The video for Careful is comprised of live footage from across the globe. Shot throughout the band’s 2009 world tour, it allows fans a glimpse into the band’s life on the road. You can watch the video here:

Funeral For A Friend will be playing 2 shows in July as an explosive celebration of outgoing guitarist Darran Smith’s time with the band.

The welsh quintet intend to play breakthrough album ‘Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation’ in it’s entirety – plus a few extra little surprises to keep the audiences on their toes.

As drummer Ryan Richards explains – ‘As sad as we are to see Darran leave, these shows will be guaranteed to give him a great sendoff. We played ‘Casually Dressed..’ in it’s entirety when we toured it back in 2003/4 and never really planned to do that again, but obviously with it being Darran’s last shows it seems like a perfect opportunity to play the record for the final time. Don’t miss it!’

And Darran himself chipped in with ‘I’m really excited about these shows, it’s gonna be great playing the whole of ‘Casually Dressed…’ plus they’re gonna be some of my last shows with Funeral & I’ll be goin’ out with a bang!’

Darren is leaving the band after this years’s Sonisphere Festival to concentrate on family life, while FFAF are reshuffling the ranks in time for the release of album #5. Current bassist Gavin Burroughs is moving to guitar, whilst Ex-Hondo Maclean/The Future bassist Richard Boucher has joined on four string.

The shows in July, along with Darran’s final show at this year’s Sonisphere Festival, promise to be absolutely spectacular, and a real treat for fans of these stalwarts of the UK music scene.

Imagine a band who fuse three part harmonies with scalding post-punk guitars; floor-filling bass lines with syncopated rhythms and lyrics about everything from high-school massacres to R&B lotharios musing on their lot in a post-apocalyptic wilderness.

Not easy, is it? But then Everything Everything aren’t here to make life easy. They’re here to challenge every knee-jerk convention of indie rock and dance on the grave of pointless retrogression.

Chances are you’ve come across EE before. Chances are they perplexed, intrigued and if you’ve an ear for something special, they excited you. They first accosted our senses with ‘Suffragette Suffragette’ in Dec 08, followed by ‘Photoshop Handsome’ in May and third single ‘MY KZ, UR BF’ in Oct 09.

Having whipped up interest in all quarters via these low key releases (they’ve acquired fans ranging from Zane Lowe to 6Music’s Marc Riley, played two UK tours- including an advance sold out ICA show as an unsigned band, notched up a top spot on MTV2’s My Space Chart and been tipped by the likes of NME and Times Culture), they signed to Geffen Records in late 2009.

‘Schoolin” is the first single to be taken from their recently completed, David Kosten co-produced debut album (title tbc) due for release in August. It seems set to be the breakthrough debut album of 2010.

Live, the band are poised to head out on the NME Radar tour co-headlining with Hurts followed by the main support slot on Delphic’s forthcoming dates in May before the summer festivals kick in. EE are so far confirmed to play Reading & Leeds, Glastonbury, Latitude (headlining the Lake Stage) and Bestival.

Recent months have delivered a steady stream of career landmarks in YOU ME AT SIX’s ascension to the top. Their second album ‘Hold Me Down‘ provided the band with their first Top 5 hit when it charted as the second highest new entry of the week and three places above Delphic. The boys’ subsequent nationwide tour in March saw them play to an audience of over 25,000 people and culminated with their first sold-out headline show at London’s Brixton Academy.

Continuing public demand to see the band in action has sparked confirmation of the second YOU ME AT SIX UK tour of the year. This time around it features more dates at bigger venues, including including Hammersmith HMV Apollo on December 15th. Not ones to rest on their laurels, Japandroids have announced they will be re-releasing their two out-of-print EPs as a reissue compilation through Polyvinyl Records on May 11th. Entitled ‘No Singles’, the ten tracks have been remastered by John Golden (Melvins, Nirvana) and will be available on gatefold 180 gram vinyl, CD – both of which will include a 32 page booklet – and digital download. The tracklisting is as follows:

White Belt Yellow Tag have announced details of the release of debut album, Methods, out on Monday April 5^th 2010 through Distiller Records. Self-produced and mixed by Chris Potter (The Verve, Blur), the 12-track album was recorded in South Yorkshire in the summer of 2009.

The album will be preceded by a single ‘Always & Echoes’, which is set for release on March 29^th. The single also features the tracks ‘Postcards’, ‘You Have No Friends’ and ‘We All Have Sound (Rhysmix Vs Wahs mix)’.

Having already bagged some impressive radio and press support (record of the week slots on 6 music, Zane Lowe support) off the back of 3 EPs in the second half of 2009, their debut album is the perfect snap-shot of White Belt Yellow Tag. Wide-screen and far-reaching, the 12 tracks span a sound ranging from the slow grind of Slint to the euphoria of Doves to the icy grandeur of prime-time Bunnymen.

The three-piece, made up of Justin Lockey, (ex Yourcodenameis:Milo), Craig Pilbin & Tom Bellamy came together at the start of 2009 when Lockey and Pilbin met in a studio in Newcastle. The last 12-months have seen the band tour extensively (most recently in support of The Airborne Toxic Event) and develop a fearsome live reputation.

As Spring 2010 rears its head, on hand to lend the perfect musical accompaniment to the rising temperatures and sites of colour splashing the grey canvas of the countryside are The High Wire with their gorgeous new single ‘The Midnight Bell’. The exhilarating sound of their latest offering will easily sweep away the final traces of winter from your mind as you come out of hibernation and shake off your vitamin D deficiency.

The tail end of last year proved that spending the vast majority of 2009 holed up in a darkened studio was well worth it, as the band emerged from hiding with previous single ‘Odds & Evens’ (“the perfect summer single” – The Sunday Times Culture) to the sound of critical acclaim and wagging tongues.

Tim Crompton (lead vocals, guitar), Stuart Peck (guitar, vocals) and Alexia Hagen’s (keys, vocals) unique brand of dreamy luscious “ecstasy pop” is a blend of acoustic based melodies and blissfully chanted vocal harmonies.
