Lostprophets 5th album Weapons is out today. To celebrate, first single ‘Bring ‘Em Down’ has had the remix treatment in this ‘God’s Army’ edition by Jared. FREE DOWNLOAD!

It’s been two years since the Welsh sextet released their fourth studio album, ‘The Betrayed’ (January 2010). Two very hectic years. After triumphant tours across the UK and Europe on which they played in front of tens of thousands of people, Kerrang! Magazine bestowed the prestigious ‘Classic Songwriters Award’ on the band, and it was time for Lostprophets to remind the world just how deserved that honour was.

Before the writing and recording process for fifth album, ‘Weapons’, could begin, 2010 needed to be closed out with a series of big experiences. As has become the norm, Lostprophets wowed the massive Reading and Leeds main stage crowd. They then went on to steal the show at Belfast’s Belsonic Festival and about a month later, were asked to participate in the opening ceremony for the Ryder Cup at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.

Immediately following the Ryder Cup festivities, the band decamped to a private home in Norfolk for an initial round of writing. After Norfolk, Lostprophets moved back to the more familiar turf of Los Angeles to work on developing their existing ideas and creating even more monstrous ones. Studio work began in February 2011 at LA’s NRG Studios with Ken Andrews (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, A Perfect Circle). Now, as 2012 kicks off, the band is ready to share their work with the world.

Lostprophets is a band whose members have known each other since their school days in Pontypridd, South Wales, a group that were friends long before they became bandmates and colleagues. Through their four previous albums – 2000’s ‘fakesoundofprogress’, 2004’s ‘Start Something’, 2006’s number one ‘Liberation Transmission’ and 2010’s ‘The Betrayed’ – the sextet have risen from the clubs of England to the stages of Wembley and other impressive arenas. Almost by stealth, the band have grown, both in songwriting and success, stacking up a dozen or so top 40 singles and selling over 2 million albums worldwide. They have become one of the UK’s biggest rock bands without compromise or flirting with musical fashions, instead choosing to stick with what they believe in and constantly striving to do better, more creatively challenging things.

Lostprophets will be coming to the following venues this spring:

April 2012

Announce Summer Festivals and November Academy Tour

Hot on the heels of the amazing reception to their recent sold out live dates and forthcoming album, Feeder announce a string of huge UK dates for November 2012. Culminating in a show at O2 Academy Brixton, the tour takes in five dates across the country. The band are also confirmed for Isle of Wight, T In The Park and Sonsiphere festivals.

Clearly rising towards a new career peak, 2012 is shaping up to be a big year for the band. Having already sold out a UK tour in January in support of their single ‘Borders’, Feeder are gearing up for the release of their eighth album ‘Generation Freakshow’, out April 23rd. The response to the new songs at recent live shows has signalled great things for the album, as has the 500,000 views on YouTube for the ‘Borders’ video.

‘Generation Freakshow’ takes the heavier elements of Feeder’s previous album ‘Renegades’ and marries it to the anthemic rock of their much-loved hits. In their career, which spans over two decades, the band have racked up over 25 hit singles, sold in excess of five million records, and released a double platinum singles collection.

Tickets go on presale at 9am on Wednesday 21st March. Tickets go on general sale on Friday 23rd March.

PUNK CREW YOUR DEMISE ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM AND RELEASE DATE DETAILS

The Golden Age is coming and there’s nothing you can do.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but being able to appreciate something in the very moment it exists is far more important. And knowing when something great’s about to happen? That’s the most exciting time of all.

Your Demise, one of the UK’s hardest-working and most-respected bands are about to enter their own glory days with the release of new album The Golden Age. It’s a fearless summary of modern punk rock all tied up in the band’s unique style, and the year ahead will see YD leaving the basement scene behind and bravely breaking new ground, starting with a stint on prestigious Australian festival tour Soundwave, before headlining across Europe in March and the UK in April, where they will top the bill of the Rock Sound Impericon Exposure Tour.

“The Golden Age is the most accurate depiction ever of who we are as a band and as people,” says vocalist Ed McRae. “If we could have written an album like this from the beginning then we would have. And recording it was very smooth – it all happened very quickly because we’re now better at integrating all our influences.”

And being able to represent those influences – the energy of SoCal skate punk, the brutality of East Coast hardcore and the big-hearted melody of the finest old-school pop-punk – more fluidly than ever is what will catapult Your Demise above and beyond.

The Golden Age (produced and engineered by Matt O’Grady and mixed by John Mitchell) is a record that deals with friendship, love, getting high, getting low, band life and real life honestly and intelligently. It also marks McRae blossoming into a better frontman than he’s ever been before, while guitarists Stu Paice and Daniel Osbourne, bassist Jimmy Sampson and drummer James Tailby prove they’re more than capable of switching style almost at will. You think you know Your Demise? Nu-uh.

If The Golden Age has its roots in Your Demise’s arm-long list of achievements – at time of writing the only continent they’ve not toured is Antarctica; they’ve ripped up massive festivals such as Download and Reading and Leeds; they’re as comfortable recording BBC sessions as they are turning a venue upside down; their last album ‘The Kids We Used To Be’ (Visible Noise) captured the attention of press and TV internationally – then it also provides a clear road-map of the band’s sky-high ambition.

The record features guest appearances from You Me At Six’s Josh Franceschi and letlive.’s Jason Butler, as well as David Wood from Down To Nothing and Terror, Theo Kindynis from Last Witness, Ajay Jones from Brutality Will Prevail, Louis from Breaking Point and Dannika Webber from Evarose, a spread which shows the respect YD command worldwide.

“Those guest spots weren’t written with anyone in mind, we just wanted our friends on the record,” continues Ed. “We love sharing what we’re doing with them. We’re still down with hardcore bands, and they want to be on our record, but then Josh is in a ridiculously big band and he wants to be on our record too. It shows that no matter what you do you still have friends.”

The next 12 months will see YD again taking the fight internationally, with confirmed touring stints in Australia, Europe and North America and a busy summer of festivals off the back of the Rock Sound Impericon Exposure Tour. After that? Who knows. With The Golden Age, the world is theirs.

‘THE GOLDEN AGE’ is released March 26th, 2012 via Visible Noise Records & first single ‘Forget About Me’ is available for download fromhttp://yourdemiseofficial.com/
