Alberta Cross – Gig hi-jacked by Guns’n'Roses PLUS new single & tour!

Alberta Cross gig hi-jacked by Guns’n'Roses PLUS new single & tour!

After having a gig overtaken by Guns’n’Roses’ surprise show at New York Fashion Week last week, Alberta Cross have now announced a new single and UK tour.

Alberta Cross performed at John Varvatos boutique in New York City (a.k.a. the former home of CBGB) as a part of the Fashion Week celebrations last Thursday and inadvertently became support to Axl and co, when Guns’n’Roses later turned up and played a secret gig (read THIS for more info).  ’Designer Of The Year’ John Varvatos has shown increasing support for the band, using ONLY Alberta Cross’ music at his Fall/Winter 2010 Milan fashion show – www.youtube.com/watch?v=huhjPm3cOPg

This comes just as the band prepare to return to the UK for another tour and single release. The disarmingly soulful ‘Old Man Chicago’, taken from last year’s critically acclaimed debut album ‘Broken Side of Time’, will be released on March 8th through Ark Recordings.

The band will also be playing the following shows:

See Alberta Cross live in March 2010:

6th London 02 Arena (supporting Dave Matthews Band)

7th Manchester Apollo (supporting Dave Matthews Band)

8th Belfast, Auntie Annies (headline show)

9th Dublin 02 Arena (supporting Dave Matthews Band)

11th Glasgow SE  + CC Hall 4 (supporting Dave Matthews Band)

Future of The Left – Announce January UK Tour

Posted on 07 January 2010 by Emma

FUTURE OF THE LEFT
ANNOUNCE JANUARY UK TOUR

Future Of The Left announce further UK dates in support of their critically acclaimed album “Travels With Myself And Another”, which is the band’s last album for 4AD.
After releasing three albums with Too Pure/4AD as Mclusky and two as Future of the Left, the band have reached the end of a partnership with the label that began on Valentine’s Day 2001.

Future Of The Left are currently on a sold-out tour of Australia and New Zealand, following a busy 2009 which saw them featuring highly in the year-end polls, and playing a shedload of shows across Europe and the US.

The band are going into the studio in February to start work on their next album. Andy says “Travels was, after a difficult gestation period, an album that we are inordinately proud of. Before the process of starting each record I always say I want to write a pop album and then our personalities get in the way. This time I’m hoping to take the thing full circle and to channel the spirit of Freddie Mercury (nb. not Brian May) through Slayer’s backline.

Here are full dates for the UK Tour:

16th JAN – NEWCASTLE  – CLUNY
17th JAN – ABERDEEN – TUNNELS
18th JAN -  GLASGOW – KING TUTS
19th JAN -  MANCHESTER – RUBY LOUNGE
21st JAN – NOTTINGHAM – BODEGA
22nd JAN -  LEEDS – COCKPIT
23rd JAN -  SHEFFIELD – CORPORATION
28th JAN – CARDIFF- IFOR BACH
