THE IDES MUSIC VIDEO – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2viIoB4JTU

SUBSOURCE SAY – “Four years ago, 20 miles south of central London, four people went into a studio to start a war.  Fucked off with so-called live dance acts mincing behind laptops, and rock acts with no more substance than the product in their hair we decided things had to change.

The snarl of Punk, the oscillating sub bass of dubstep, the harrowing melody of coldwave all had to be in there with as much of electronica’s glitches and edits, hip-hop’s flows, the galloping ferocity of drum’n’bass and metal as possible. No subgenre’s safe from the “treatment.”  The vivisection becomes complete when firing up the live beast. Amalgamated from double bass, synths, drums, guitars, and vocals, like an amphetamised Rottweiler running riot through a free warehouse party, tearing holes in speaker cones, our live shows leave saucer eyed audiences writhing in sweat-drenched ecstasy.

This is not a war of conflict but a war of unification.  Ravers throw shapes, as Rockers bang heads, and Rude Bois throw their hands in the air. Subsource are a Beat and Bass driven Rock act representing the underground UK dance music scene.  No treaty will be signed and the occupation will be total.”

Following October’s release of crowd favourite ‘The Reason (Parasite)’, Subsource’s electro, metal and unique take on dubstep (Substep anyone?) influences come to the fore on the socially charged track ‘The Ides’. This single will be released on 29th March with album ‘Tales From The Doombox’ set for release on 5th April. This ethos flows into the band’s art with the album cover for ‘Tales From The Doombox’ being a piece by street artist Faith47, who’s been dubbed the ‘South African Banksy’. The cover’s inscription statement of ‘build you up to tear us down’ reflects the nature of a self sufficient band who have fashioned lyrical paeans to the true accounts of island tribes fighting off oil companies. But it’s not all work and no play. A nod to their dance roots inspired them to create the Subsource iPhone rave app, complete with flashing glow stick and lighter, not that you’ll find many tender moments in a Subsource live set…

Catch the band’s exuberant live show at the following dates –

22nd March – Water Rats, London Onstage 9pm
27th March – Wonka, Monkey Bar, Swansea
17th April – The Brickyard, Carlisle
19th June – Globe Theatre – Hay on Wye
25th September – The Big Noise, Swansea

Get Dub Pistols ‘Ganja’ into the Charts Now

Posted on 08 March 2010 by Emma

West London’s finest electro-funksters, Dub Pistols, release their acclaimed new single, ‘Ganja’ today on Sunday Best Recordings. Help them hijack the charts and get the single into the Top 40 by joining their Facebook campaign by following the link below.

Taken from their 4th album ‘Rum & Coke’, the single is helmed by UK hip-hop legend Rodney P, who works his lyrics into an original blend of dub, hip-hop and reggae with a feel-good, laid-back groove. Ganja? They’ve never touched the stuff!

With the legendary status that Barry, Jason and the boys have built up over the years, remixer’s were lining up to take this one for a spin, and we’re not disappointed. New producer on the scene Toby Toast proves his worth with a beautifully down-tempo electronic re-working, while Hip-hop legend Skitz hardens things up with added vocals from Deadly Hunter. Atomic Hooligan, 2 Bit Thugs and Ben and Lex represent the breaks contingent, delivering some equally leg-wobbling bass lines and beats. As always, the Sunday Best Remix proves a firm DJ favourite with a fresh cosmic disco edge.

With a frenetic winter tour of Australia, Asia and Europe under their belts, the band embark on their ‘Ganja Tour’ of the UK in March, culminating in a headline show at London’s KoKo. The summer of 2010 is already looking busy with a host of festival dates confirmed and many more to come.

Florida’s We The Kings have secured themselves as one of the most original & exciting bands in the pop-rock circuit, with a heavily dedicated fan base, having toured the US with bands such as Boys Like Girls, All Time Low, Cobra Starship and, most recently, headlining the 2009 Vans Warped Tour.

Sophomore album, ‘Smile Kid’, will be released on March 8th and infectious first single, ‘Heaven Can Wait’, released March 1st is already climbing the charts in the US, becoming the band’s fastest rising single to date & reaching the Top 10 on the Alternative Singles Chart.  It’s the band’s third Top 40 charting single in the US.

Produced by S*A*M and SLUGGO (Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship) ‘Smile Kid’ follows their self titled smash debut which hit # 1 on Billboard’s New Alternative Album sales chart.

Time in the studio gelled the band’s already energetic and tight sound. Instantly addictive tracks such as ‘Heaven Can Wait’, ‘She Takes Me High’ & ‘We’ll Be A Dream’ (featuring Disney’s Demi Lovato) brim with youthful vibrancy and enthusiasm, clocking in at short and sweet three-minute bursts.

The world of We The Kings is a never-ending buzz of activity, where fans and band are equal participants.  They are constantly tweeting, updating blogs & websites and documenting life on the road in their online mini sitcom, “The Kings Carriage”.

Infectious high spirits and camaraderie energize their live performances.  The boys hit our shores March 2010 supporting You Me At Six on a Nationwide tour.
