FUTURE OF THE LEFT
Release brand new album ‘the plot against common sense’ on 11th June through Xtra Mile Recordings

Future Of The Left are excited to announce that they will release their new record, ‘the plot against common sense‘ on 11thJune 2012 through Xtra Mile Recordings in the UK and Europe and on 12th June in North America through Xtra Mile/ILG.

Constituting 49.8 minutes of singing, shouting, slinking, smashing and (at times) sobbing, the album is the best thing the band have put their name to in this or any other dimension, a fact which is not open to debate.

Recently expanded to a four-piece, initially as a bet, the band originally conceived the record as a Broadway musical based on the recent British phone-hacking scandal but were forced to abandon this idea due to budgetary restrictions. This is not a joke. After writing hundreds of songs fifteen were recorded and placed into an order deliberately selected to exhibit the full dynamic range of the experience, a gift which will be lost to anybody who regularly utilitises the shuffle function on their mp3 player.

From the upcoming summer of sport (‘failed olympic bid’) to the creative bankruptcy of the movie industry (‘robocop 4 – fuck off robocop’), urban outfitted riots (‘city of exploded children’) and the gigantic rumbling mediocrity of celebrity culture (‘notes on achieving orbit’), ‘the plot against common sense’ is a mostly very loud condemnation of many things, some of which are very easy targets indeed.

Recent single ‘sheena is a t-shirt salesman’ is currently being blasted out across the airways played and championed by Radio 1’s Daniel P Carter, Huw Stephens as well as XFM, 6Music and Kerrang! Radio. They are also heading out on an eagerly anticipated headline tour across the UK and Europe. Full dates are as follows:

WEMBLEY ARENA – LONDON SCALA HEADLINE SHOW – SUMMER FESTIVALS

Following on from a fantastic support set for Frank Turner at the enormous Wembley Arena on 13th April 2012 – which culminated in a crowdsurf that took him all the way from the stage to the back bar after a raucous rendition of his new song ‘Hello Wembley’ – the incomparable BEANS ON TOAST announces his largest London headline show to date at the beautiful Scala in Kings Cross.

The gravel voiced singer songwriter will play this incredible show at the Scala on 27th September 2012 – tickets go on sale on the day of his set at Wembley Arena where he will be supporting and the night will be recorded for a live album due for a release in early 2013. More information on that come.

Before all that though he will be playing throughout the summer months at headline shows and festivals both in the UK and Europe.

Beans on Toast is a man who has been around the block more times than he cares to remember. His wise drunken ramblings, drug ballads, honest love songs and no holds barred social commentary have made him a firm regular on the festival circuit.

With 3 critically acclaimed albums under his belt and a gig list that ranges from Wembley Arena to Kidderminster, Glastonbury to Glade, house parties to social clubs and local pubs to banging raves. He has perfected the art of his craft and always delivers it with a smile.

For this year’s festival season Beans has put together a makeshift band to ‘help him stay in time with himself’. He promises a set of old favourites and new subject matter that deals with Droughts, Wars, Pagans, Protests and Wetherspoons pubs.

Expect to laugh, cry and take a long hard look at the world we live in.
